IGA Africa
Parent and Guardian Consent Information
Information for parents and guardians of young people using IGA Africa.
Effective: 18 October 2026 · Last updated: 18 October 2026
1. When consent is required
Users under 16 must complete the designated parent or guardian consent process when personal information is processed on the basis of consent. A school or another applicable law may set a different threshold or rely on another lawful authorization.
Creating an ordinary account is not, by itself, proof of guardian consent. Where consent is required, the institution or IGA Africa must complete the designated verification process before the relevant processing begins.
2. Information and activities covered
- Account, institution, program, contact, and learning records.
- Course participation, submissions, assessments, communications, and certificates.
- Optional profile images, recordings, AI features, or other activities described at the point of consent.
- Necessary security, support, and service records.
3. Guardian choices
A verified parent or guardian may ask to review or correct information, withdraw consent for future consent-based processing, or request deletion subject to educational and legal retention duties. Withdrawal may make a particular optional activity unavailable but does not invalidate earlier lawful processing.
4. How to contact us
